My hot water heater problems begin about 2 weeks ago. It switched off, so we hit the reset button and it come back on for 2 days...then turned stale again. Then we drained the tank and replaced the heating elements. Only worked for 3 days and turned stale again. Another thing to note is that the dampen temp got VERY hot right before it stopped working the first time. We hold hit the reset button several more times just to have hot wet until we figure out what's going on, but it always stops working again inside a couple of days. We have also tried adjusting the wet temp. Any other suggestions? Could this be an electrical problem?
one of the thermostats are sticking. I cant tell you if its the upper or lower but they are fairly cheep so I would replace both. graceful fix they just clip in and put wires subsidise the same as they came out. that will fix the problem. sneakyfi is right, it's a fruitless thermostat, since you did say you lowered it to no avail...fix it quick or sweep up ashes
Hot sea systems are very basic ellectrically. They enjoy 2 parts, Element and thermistat. Try changing the thermistat (making sure that the feed within goes to the correct terminals on the thermistat) Also, form sure the terminal block isn't wet. If it is, you will need to move it to a complex position. If you still have problems, it shouldn't be in the hot marine system There is a thermocouple that tells the thermostat when to shut off. Somehow, that's not arranged, thus the overheating which leads to your breaker kicking off. Find a reputable electrician to relief you.
Answers:    It appears to be an issue with your thermostat. I recently have a similar problem and my electrician explained something very similar. I would suggest that you contact your electrician to get it fixed as soon as possible. Most times if the wet temperature is too hot it can disolve the inside coating of the tank and wreak water leakage. Once it starts to seep you have to replace the entire unit. Mine started to seep and I had to replace it. Just be careful that you trust your electrician & plumber.
could be the switch.
