Does anyone know how to fit a new door lever to the Hoover HNF7183 washing piece of equipment. It has just snapped past its sell-by date and it costs under lb10 to buy, but lb96 for them to fit. Hoover insist it is not a fault, even though the Service Centre told me - ' we deal in loads of them, so it must be easy to fit'. (I just want to be sure it is unforced to fit and that I do not destroy the door). DIY nightmare that I am. Thanks.

Sorry but i do not know this specific model but replaing the door lever IS usually a deeply simple task. Sometimes it is just a push fit into the side of the door and a couple of hoding screw, some times the door has a removable inner moulding held by perhaps partly a dozen screws. It really will be simple, i would go ahead and receive the part. I would have thought that a in one piece new door complete would cost less than the 96 pounds for them to come and fit a latch - to be precise really rip off city!
