Home electricity fuse shorting out when it rain? My house runs off battery, charged by solar panels and back up...
My house runs off battery, charged by solar panels and back up by a powerful generator. we live in spain where on earth it doesn't rain that recurrently. we had an electrician round just now who re-wired our fuse box and added a couple of connection points as capably as certifiying our wiring- it is only since he did this that the problem arose (yes, we get him back surrounded by twice to check out what was going wrong beside no luck)
the conditions under which the leading fuse blows is as follows-
1. it has to be raining or only just rained, 2. generator must be on.
if the generator is not on, the fuse doesn't short. we enjoy had an obtain in to check the generator - whilst in attendance is a slight surge when it kicks within, there other has be but otherwise the generator is working fine.
the question is how do i check my house one-sidedly to find out where the problem lies? this electrician who comes round i simply don't focus is looking hard adequate

I would look through the nouns where the electrician run any new electrics. It may be something as simple as a wire getting nick by a drill or a fastener. Check any electrics in the circuit for the generator investigational or old. If the electric wiring is in conduit or not it may own gotten chafed when it be originally installed. If it persists disconnect the branches of the circuit one at a time until it stops. Then check that branch for the short or enjoy him, the electrician, rewire it.

Answers: Hi,your problem only happen when the generator is on therefore you have need of to look at the cable coming from the generator ,the generator itself (which you have done) and your basic fuse.Try turning off every trip switch or fuse (whichever you own in your fuse box) except your principal one and if it blows again you know your problem is from there put money on,if it does not blow turn on 1 circuit at a time until it does and then you know what 1 to fix.Check the leading fuse first though just to gross sure it is rated for a surge.
