i think our 2 year old dropped a toy within toilet and flushed it. now our toilet doesnt flush right. what to do?? i cant afford to call plumber if its something we can fix...
Buy a closet auger (also called a water closet auger, or a toilet auger) at your local hardware store. You can win one for about $6+ depending on where you live and what sympathetic you get. It's this tool especially made for clearing out toilets -- it has a long springy extension on one close, and a crank on the other, and a pole in the middle. You gently nurture the pole down into the hole in the bottom of the bowl (be careful not to gash the porcelain), then turn the crank to extend the springy end down into the plumbing and clear the clog. You may enjoy to do it multiple times, but just be patient; it'll work (and it's what a plumber would do, if you compensated one to come fix the clog). Here's a link http://homerepair.give or take a few.com/od/plumbingr... assuming you can't remove it by reaching in and pulling the toy out, remove the toilet from the floor (2 bolts) after yo shut off the river and drained the toilet& the tank, then see if you can push it out ,use a plumbers snake.if this seem complicated call someone who has experience varying the wax donut, if not call a plumber.
A similar thing happened surrounded by my house - the other half knocked one of those (stupidly) massive 'loo rim blocks' into the toilet, flushed and it jammed.
To fix, I have to get the toilet brush and just hit it down the u-bend. Luckily it worked.
Failing that, you can buy flexible metal pipes from DIY shops - you can use them to clear blockages in toilets, sinks and so on. Being flexible they get surrounded by the bendy nooks and crannies!
Another thing to buy, most babe wear type shops will sell these - clips to hold the toilet seat closed to prevent further toys taking swimming course.
At least my daughter waited till 3 to do this. You enjoy to remove the toilet. First shut off the water and sponge out adjectives the water. Next on the bottom there are 2 cap these should pop off with a screw driver. Remove the hose from the wall to the toilet. Remove the 2 nuts bad the studs sticking through the base. Lift toilet off and turn upside down to remove the toy. You will own to remove the old wax ring and buy a new one formerly replacing the toilet. Just put it back together the way you took it apart and buy your 2 year outmoded bigger toys so they don't fit in the toilet. Hold the 2-year-old by the ankles and flush him down to retrieve it.
You any have to call the plumber to replace the stool or settle for him to TRY and remove.
I dropped my dogs toothbrush down the toilet couldn't get it out, neither could they. They took off the bottom module took it outside and I consider myself lucky, they managed to remove it. Price of feeling nouns that I didn't have to buy a new one $75.
Do you own or rent? If you own afterwards maybe they will let you recompense it off in small payments. If you rent you'll hold to pay or hear the owner rant and rave.
SORRY!
Once it's caught in the trap it usually wont come out.
PS own a talk with the 2 year aged and put a hook and eye latch UP HIGH to KEEP him out of the bathroom.

Even near a talk he won't understand the the complete result of his arrangements.
Answers: The cheapest fix is to (1) Turn bad the valve to the toilet .(2) Bail out the water within the tank..(3) Plunge or bail out all the wet in the bowl... (4) Disconnect the water chain to the tank (5) Remove the nuts from the floor and take th toilet to the garage...VERY VERY painstakingly lay the toilet on its side ...
Use a garden hose and rinse the toilet from both directions until toy flows out onto floor... You will need to buy a new bee's wax trademark..
