Okay, so. My puppy chewed the cord of my hair straightener. My really, nice, super expensive hair straightener that I beg my mom for. Limited edition. So replacing it would be tough.
She bit through the copper wire, but the base wires are still together.
Does anyone know if I can grasp it fixed?
Or if it's just a lost cause?
Answers: OMG, alike thing happened to me! But near my curler (my hair's naturally straight lol) so me and my mom called a repairman, and he hooked it spinal column up to an entirely different cord!
Worked fine :-)
Just look in the yellow page for a repairman or someone who works with wires, it should be fine.
:-)
Yes, it can be repaired. When I was unbelievably young I had a rabbit within my apartment. Daisy chewed through nearly every cord in the house, stereo, lamps, even the cell phone (this was back until that time fiberoptics). I got very flawless at repairing cords. At each end of the telecommunication that is chewed through, (even the ones that are still connected) cut off adjectives the parts that have puppy bite marks. Even if the line is connected, the wire under the bitten areas might be undermined. Next you're going to have to strip all the insulation sour about an inch down the cord on both of the cut ends. The insulation is the rubber part on the outside of the cord and wires. This is the really tricky slice, because it's easy to cut the wires while you're doing this, but it can be done with a immensely sharp knife, steady hands and slow going. (I know you already know to unplug the point before you try any of this, right?) Next each chain gets twisted with it's partner of the other piece (green to green, white to white, black to black, doesn`t matter what is there). Wrap these connections individually with electric tape, satisfactory to keep any bare telecommunication from touching the next group, then wrap the together group together with the electric tape. Voila! Of course the safest item to do is take it in and basically have a new cord put on. Cause if ya mess up, you could start a fire when you plug it contained by. Good luck! yes it can be fixed with electrical tape. afterwards put it up where the dog cant get to it also put up other things that enjoy wires, while you are away. or keep her in a puppy carter while you are gone.
