I just took my generator out of storage to grasp ready for this Nor'easter explicitly headed our opening. I replaced the spark plug, changed the oil, added gas and attempted to start it to no avail.
It have a push button start, and when I press it, I hear it click, but nothing happen. I also tried the pull cord but it is stuck and will not budge. Any design?
I should mention that the last time it be started was two years ago. We've moved over 1000 miles since afterwards. I'm thinking it got dog-eared in the move, or it's merely been sitting within storage for too long.
I've accepted the theory that I may be without power for this storm, but I'm wondering if this is fixable for the subsequent storm.

Answers:    It sounds similar to you have a piston rusted to the cylinder wall. Sometimes, if you are really lucky, you can squirt some Marvel Mystery Oil in the cylinder through the spark plug hole. Then, remove the retreat cover, place a block of wood against the flywheel, and give it a crack near a hammer. All you requirement to do is move it a little to break the rust.

If you don't want to do this, clutch it in and enjoy it cleaned out. It will cost a few bucks, but it is fixable.

I think that Bare B get it right. You may get by beside putting penatrating oil surrounded by the cylinder and letting it soak. You have to be cautious when you try to turn the engine over. The rings are stuck to the cylinder wall. It doen't take much to break the rings. Even if you win it to turn the rings may be stuck in their grooves and will not carry out properly.
