Help, My marine pump cuts within after past its sell-by date within second.? I replaced the water pump that pumps the water from the holding...
I replaced the water pump that pumps the water from the holding container to the expansion tank and through the softner into the house.
It will not run for more than a few seconds next shuts off, after it runs for a few seconds
I tried adjust the pressure cut offs a few turns but it does not seem to make any difference, I also changed the check tap and primed it.
I have increased the expansion tank pressure to 40psi would this bring in a difference?
The softner seems to be working although I do not know how to test it,
It adjectives worked fine before I changed the pump which had stopped after screech on start up for a while.
Any help would be appreciated
Answers: your pressure tank is river logged and needs to have the ir accustomed. At the bottom of the tank should be a grey or black box take the top past its sell-by date inside it should say 20/40 or 30/50 the air requirements to be two pounds less than the lower number. To adjust air pressure turn bad the pump and drain the tank through the valve at the bottom.Take an nouns gauge and check the pressure adjust as needed
The tank may be 'waterlogged'. It depends on a consistent amount of air in the reservoir to force water through the pipes. If there's too much water/not enough nouns in the tank, the pump will cycle hastily. Older tanks can be refilled next to air, but most newer tanks, if leak air, must be replaced ($200-$300). I would assume it's water bound. Before I spent deeply of money on checking and hiring etc, I'd drain it.
A change in heat (to the summer heat) could cause it.
I get this twice a year..Drain the container completely of all water.Do anything you have to do to be sure it's completely drained, vent it, blow in it etc.Be forgiving and then turn power back on and reload it..If that doesn't work then you should call somebody.
