We used to have a really old split section (part inside the home and part on the back porch) that worked great but be really old and loud. We spent thousands and upgraded seers and tonnage (we are planning on adding up on) got a single unit put on the roof. Now every time monsoon season hits our home is muggy and humid, the open food in the cupboards gets stale/soggy, and the doors warp and won't shut well. This never happened with my matured 1960's unit! I've called the company that installed it and they own tried everything they can think of and have no model why this is happening. We hired a plumber to be sure it wasn't a water issue. It other goes away and then everything is put money on to normal again once monsoon season is over. But, should that matter? Shouldn't the a/c component still pull the humidity out of my home? Why did the old part do that but not the new upgraded one? I'm tired of being sticky and throwing away food for 2 months out of every year. HELP! Tired of one sticky

Answers:    one of the problems with humidity in homes today is the ac tonnage is to big, yes that right,the part don't run long enough to take out the humidity surrounded by the air,you should have one ton for respectively 500 sq. ft of living space,if you less than that your going to have humidity problems.hope that help.

It sounds like you live in an nouns where humidity is a problem during certain times of the year.
You own to remember that there have be a lot of changes made surrounded by appliances since the 1960's and today's appliances are supposed to be energy efficient and eco-star compliant.
While AC's are honest at pulling much of the humidity out of your home window units are not as reorganized as central units.
My suggestion would be to budge out and purchase a de-humidifier.
