I live in Michigan. Right presently it is 34 degrees outside..so it is cold but my steam kicksby the side of 2 minutes after it shuts off to hold my house at 70 degrees. The house is a 1 story cattle farm, no basement, just 1,100 sq. feet. Does it nouns kind of ridiculous that my warmth is on every 2 minutes? It is a rental home so I can't insulate it, but I wonder if it is not insulated. There is no attic & the house is on a slab (very cold floors) The house seems unbelievably badly constructed & ultimate Feb. my heat bill for 1 mo. be 400 dollars just keeping the bake at 60. I keep it at 70 immediately b/c I have a toddler now.
Answers: It sounds similar to you don't have any insulation within that house. With the price of oil, and gas will follow for some intention and electricity as well to be definite high this year. If you are not bound by a lease I would look some where on earth else to live Winter is not even here and your house is cold. Ask the owner to insulate or find a new home. A problem close to this and a lawyer, plus a little one, I think you can obtain out of a lease. You could cover the window next to plastic, weather strip the doors and maybe turn the steam down a little. Why should you. Did you live within for a full winter last year?
put plastic on the window and buy the insulators for behind the obverse plates on switches and plugs also a towel against the bottom of the outside doors will help preserve drafts out and your heat will stay contained by.
