I am trying to repair a 5 inch burn mark on a ashen formica counter top.
Is within a method to fix/repair electric blankets?...
Answers:    Have you tried just using a green scotch-brite wad to see if the mark will buff out? If successful use "Jubilee Kitchen wax" to re-shine the formica afterwards.

I enjoy seen companies that do bathroom refinishing (tubs and egotism tops) also refinish formica counter tops. I can't tell you the long possession durability of it or how it compares with the cost of in recent times replacing the formica.
I do think that anything that you do as a patch will look close to a patch, so if you will not be satisfied beside that I think your option are checking out some of the refinishing companies or start getting some bids to replace the entire top.
