the tab to close/strt dish washer wont budge? does anyone know how to fix it?
1. Does it still have a warranty?
2. Go to the store where on earth you bought it and see how the other dishwasher doors work. See if you have something bent when comparing them to yours.
3. Get mad, stomp your foot and read out, I won't buy any more GE.
Too many possibilities.
Bad stamp, loose seal, something caught in the trademark (check along the bottom front of the tub), bent hinges, bad latch, the shut in moved, ... that is most of them, I think.
If it won't move at adjectives, with the lever type, it often finances the door is not closed enough to the prong to "release" the latch so it can move. Often at hand is a prong that pushes on a release when you close it.
I would guess it is not getting closed enough. Or that prong mounted to the top of the tub that also is the catch for the latch have come loose or pushed back.

Answers: The latching tang may be bent or the post has moved. Depending on exactly how it is setup as to what you can do.
Make sure there's not something preventing the door from closing completely.
