Answers:    I use plastic wrap (Glad, Saran etc) all the time to cover foods while within the microwave. It is considered safe.^

No problem, however they now sort this specifically for use in microwaves. It will be pink in color.
What you hold used has been used millions of times!
We overheat potatoes and cover all types of oven safe cookware next to Glad Wrap all the time.
If you leave within in long enough to liquefy it then your food would not be very spicy.
