My husband dropped his hammer down an approachable air duct on the 2nd floor. How the hell can we find it out - or even tell where on earth it is? Thanks!
Depending on where it is, could be cheaper to only go out and buy a $10.00 tack hammer.

have to be there I guess, however follow the duct to its first bend and unambiguous it up there and patch the hole beside a piece of ducting metal and sheet-metal screws and silver cassette to keep within the heat.
since hammer can't swim around corners...shouldn't be to much of a chore.
If its flex, cut the pipe in partly or split it and slide out your hammer, but adjectives in adjectives, is the hammer worth the expense to rest it??
Answers:    if you have a vault it will be in the ceiling immediately.it would be right at the bottom of the pipe more then probable against the outside wall.would not be hard to return with out if ceiling is unfinished or drop ceiling.if drywalled catch a new sledge hammer it wont harm anything contained by there
