Genie garage starter won't close properly? As the garage door closes down and touches the floor, it opens...

As the garage door closes down and touches the floor, it opens spinal column for some reason. So I hold to let it come down afterwards hit the button about 1 inch in the past it touches down so it doesn't open fund up. any ideas?
Maybe the down-force sensor needs adjust. Call the Genie customer service people. I've other found them to be very clued-up and helpful.

I deduce their number is 1-8OO-35-GENIE

Your door has a function that make it raise if it comes within contact with something (like you) earlier it closes, it probably needs adjust....
Contact Reverse

* Lay 2Ħħ x 4Ħħ board flat on the floor in the center of the garage doorway

* Close door using wall button or remote control (garage door should reverse past its sell-by date 2Ħħ x 4Ħħ within 2 seconds)

Note: If door fail to reverse on contact with board close force must be lowered. Refer to Contact Reverse slice of owners manual. If, after lowering force, the hand still fails to reverse, replace hand or have hand serviced by a professional.
Answers:    Your door is closing near too much pressure and is affecting the sensors on the track at the left and right sides of the door. About six to eight inches past its sell-by date the floor. Check these while inside close the door and watch them for movement.
If this is the grounds, adjust your closer switch.
