My kitchen has 2 gcfi outlets, one is not working at adjectives and won't even reset and the other trips when the microwave is turned on . . what is the likely cause?
Answers:    a GFI will not restet short power going to it check the main breaker panel and see if ones tripped.
It may also be fed from another gfi (not code) that have tripped
Hope that helps
Unplug the microwave, then reset the gfci, if it holds next the microwave is bad. Otherwise replace the gfci. Since you have multiple gfci on matching circuit, they must be wired so they are both always on the line, not one protecting the subsequent unit. If you still have problems, ring up a qualified professional electrician to do the work. Microwave only one circuit for reason that it draws 17 amps. The other circuit trade name sure that there is no short on it.
