Gas out of commission? I live in an apartment and since Wednesday, my gas range have...
I live in an apartment and since Wednesday, my gas range have not been working. Neither the burners nor the oven will light. On Wednesday, the proprietor sent repairman, but they only replaced the range, which did not solve the problem (replaced on Friday). While carrying out tests the range, they saw that no gas was coming out the gas pipe between the wall and the array. They didn't know how to fix it. A few hours later, a technician came to check the meter for my element, but it was working. So I called Washington Gas Co. and they said that in that was nothing they can do. (They wouldn't even distribute any of their people out to check!) I payed my gas bill on time, I miserable it's freakin' less than $10, and no one seem to know what the problem is! I just want to be able to cook hot food, because cold food and the microwave merely leaves so many options. Your solutions and proposal would be greatly appreciated.
Jump up and down, demand some service. Stop paying rent , make you topography lord do some work and get it fixed
Go to your gas meter, check the valve on the pipe coming out of the ground, within is a knob that is about 1/2 inch by 1 1/2 inches. if this is surrounded by a horizontal position it is shut off. It must be in the vertical or within line with the pipe to work. If stale use a wrench or pliers to turn it. Some stoves are required to be plugged into a wall outlet because new ones have an electric spark instead of a pilot hurricane lantern.
If the electronic spark has no power, the safety will not allow gas to flow to burners. ring up to professionals
Answers: that is strang that not even the light would work ,but they might want to check the gas smudge that goes from the wal to the stove to make sure their is zilch clogging it up.
Hope this helps.
