Hello - We have a gas furnace beside electric ignition. The only route we can get the furnace to work is to turn "off" the thermostat and next turn it to "heat". Only then the ignition seem to take place and the steam works. What do you think is the problem? It stops again after the heat rises one degree or so. It automatically shuts stale.

Answers:    You dont mention something real chief, so Ill ask. What temperature do you enjoy it set to, and what temperature is it? The furnace will turn sour and not run if it has reach the temperature you want it to be. If you want it to run some more, consequently turn up the temperature further...

What you are doing is reseting the furnace control. There is something cause it to shutdown. Most of the controls have a flashing standard lamp to tell you what is wrong. For more info including a troubleshooting guide, check out the furnace page at my source.
