Can anyone explain this problem?

I have three remote garage door openers that wont work surrounded by the recent below zero cold snap. This includes a handheld remote, a remote fixed to the garage, and a remote built into my vehicle. The hardwired buttons work fine, as does the door operation. Since the remote in the sports car runs off the coup¨¦ battery - its not a battery-operated problem.
When I bring a remote inside the house and let it thaw up, it works.

Whats going on? Can anyone explain this? Is my receiver going down? This starter is probably 25 years old...

Answers:    Very strange problem. The warmth of the remote has nil to do with the beneficiary on the opener itself. I can't see how heat the remote would help such problem. The with the sole purpose thing that jump to mind is the status of the batteries on the remote. Cold weather make them drop voltage. However, you said the car one have the exact same problem which is very puzzling. Try a fresh reheat battery on a COLD remote and see what happen. If still no good, afterwards time to replace the opener ! if better, afterwards it was a freestyle problem after all !

cold battery = voltage drop = no broadcast signal.
try fresh batteries.. or resign from the opener contained by the sunlight.
