Garage door starter will not close from remote. Any concept as to how it could be fixed? Garage door: 1. Opens fine from remote 2. Closes fine from interior (wired) button/control 3....

Garage door:
1. Opens fine from remote
2. Closes fine from interior (wired) button/control
3. When empoloying remorte to close, door opens all the path to the max open position. Any additional close comands generate clicks inside of motor.

Safety spine appears to be aligned on both sides. and there is nothing in 3 ft of it.

Thanks
Answers:    How about sunshine. I had trouble next to mine when sun was shining directly on the sensor. The door would not close. I ended up putting a black plastic tube on the sensor so the sun couldn't get hold of to it. Has worked fine since then.

If you don't want to epoxy a plastic tube, the easy process to check this out is to duct tape the cardboard tube from a paper towel roll to the sensor. You hold to make sure it is lined up so the smirk from the transmitting side can get to the sensor.
It is definately a sensor issue. Try closing the garage door (either manually or by pressing and holding your wall button) and gat the garage as dark as you can. If you are audible range a clicking noise, that indicates that it is in reality asensor issue. Once the garage is reasonably dark, check to see if the lights on your sensors are solid, or if you see the reception eye (indicated on the back of the sensor where the cable is) is flashing rapidly. You could also have a loose nouns if it is an old style sensor. You probably have a liftmaster or chamberlain of some sorts. There are so frequent factors that could go wrong next to the sensors, I would recommend replacing them just to avoid the headaches. Look up a human being or business in your area that can fix it..or maybe it needs a new freestyle.
