I have an grease furnace which is 80 AFUE. I had it on the same wavelength by a professional one year ago. I also installed a new nouns filter on 12-13-07.
The furnace does the following when it kicks on:
1) Makes a low pitched churning resonance for 3mins 20 seconds
2) The Fan comes on and sends foced nouns through vents for 1 minute 50 second.
3) Heater turns off for 4 minutes straight.
4) Fan solely (furnace off) runs for 20 seconds.
Does this nouns like an abnormal cycle to you? The heater works, I a short time ago don't understand why it hums for a couple of minutes prior to forced nouns sending warm nouns through ductwork.
I'm only heat up a small rancher 1,100 square feet.
Anyone assume the heater have a possible problem?
Thanks!
Answers: the furnace you have, have what they call a roast exchanger. it recycles and save you money. they sound different than most furnaces. they are an vitality saver, as long as it keep you warm. It's probably OK
That does not nouns unusual..The cycle is like this...Thermostat call for heat, burner comes on and starts heat up the heat exchanger(firebox), at a preset temp the admirer comes on and starts blowing air throughout the house, once thermostat is self-satisfied the burner kicks past its sell-by date, the fan runs until it cools the bake exchanger(firebox) down to a preset temp..Fan shuts off...furnace stays past its sell-by date until the thermostat calls for steam agan...the cycle lasts almost 6 minutes and if it is staying off for roughly speaking 15 to 20 minutes between cycles your furnace is probably working correctly..
