I recently asked for an estimate for installing a heat unit to my place. The company recommended 60K BTU, 80% value York Furnace. With the following options:

$500 smaller number for a Guardian brand furnace
$1000 more for a 94% instead of a 80% efficiency section

which should I pick?

Answers:    get the complex efficiency section, but I would definitely not win a york brand. I work for a york dealer and work on york systems adjectives day long, and they are not worth the money. The hold alot of problems with the untried technology and they constantly change parts and availability.

I recommend getting more estimates and letting them compete beside each other. Efficiency ratings translate into money within your pocket monthly.
