Now that cold weather is here, my furnace shuts off after running awhile. I reckon it is overheating. It will shut off and after a second later start up. This will occur on and off again for something like 10 minutes and then shut sour completely. Can I fix this myself or do I need to name a repairman?? If I need someone to come and fix it how much do they usually charge???
Answers: it purely all depends on what it is, how far the repairman have to go etc etc. mine be doing the same point and it was a hose that have gotten old. total bill $60.
That could be copious things. Could be the fan overheating, could be a safekeeping switch is tripping out for some reason. You best bet is to call upon someone for that. One thing you could try is looking at the circuit board. If its a newer furnace, it will own a little green or red desk light on the board that will flash a code. count the number of flashes while the unit have shut down. on the furnace some place there will be a graph that tell you what the code means.
Most companies charge nearly $80 an hour + parts+ van charge
