Front door vat lock problem? When the door is open, I can occupy the levers and...

When the door is open, I can occupy the levers and turn the push button. When I try the same beside the door closed, the levers occupy OK but the key does not turn. I hold replaced the lock and checked that nothing on the door frame is blocking the lock but still no elation. Anyone any ideas on what could be wrong?
Sounds like the watsits dropping when you occupy the thingybebob and the watsits can't get it together.Sort out the thingybebob and it
should be similar to new.

It must be that the deadbolt is not facing up with the hole, any vertically or horizontally. You need to find out a moment ago how it is not fitting.

You need to put something on the tub bolt that will transfer onto the the unloading receptacle. I'm at a loss at the moment -- maybe pencil graphite would be adequate, or even kid's watercolor paint -- even some latex paint. Paint or otherwise mark the bolt, close the door, and try the bolt. Hopefully it will disappear a mark indicating a moment ago how the bolt is mis-fitting.
Answers:    Is the door wood or uPVC, If it's uPVC sounds close to the door has dropped a bit, look on the top of your hinge and you will see a plastic cover, remove that and with an allen knob turn the hex nut clockwise, that will lift the door a bit.
