My front deraileur died of natural cause after 7 years. My problem is i cant get my unmarked one positioned properly. the front of the cage is approx 1mm above the outer ring but when i modification rear gear to low the tie up rubs against the outside, or if i go to soaring it rubs on the inside. I replaced old LX component with an exchangeable LX unit. i newly cant seem to win the tilt right.Any suggestions?
Answers: i thought it was 2mm clearance
assuming you own the right model for the number of rings front and rear the rubbing channel you need to adjust the screw which allow the cage to turn in out
also obligation to make sure the cable is tensioned
seize the instructions from the shimano site
You should ask this question within the sports/cycling area. 1mm seem too close for the front deraileur to large tie up ring distance. I don't recall what it should be though...it's be such a long time since I worked on bicycles.
