Hi, Have an under counter freezer that when turned on for approx 2 hours, turns stale all the electricity contained by the house. Tried fully defrosting but same happen. Have been conned by inhabitants fixing other domestic appliances in times past so want to know is it worth getting someone out - quick fix, or newly bin it - any help appreciated
if its the whole house it sounds approaching its the rcd that trips. The rcd is saying near is an earth error (its doing its job) That said it is a known certainty for some older fridges / freezers to trip an rcd.

How matured is this freezer?? If it's more than 15 years, I'd say unwanted items it. Of course you can't just toss it surrounded by the bin. There's regulated gases and oil in it and the landfill will single accept it if these are removed.
If it cuts past its sell-by date all the electricity contained by the house, you have other MAJOR issues. The outlet that it's plugged into should own a fuse/breaker on it and this should be blowing/tripping before the biggest goes.
