Foam insulating house.? I'm thinking about adding together some insulation to my house to try...
I'm thinking about adding together some insulation to my house to try and cut heating and cooling costs. I be wondering if anyone could tell me if its possible to affix insulation to the walls without ripping them out, approaching with that foam spray or near blown insulation. Which would be easier and which would be cheaper? Also can anyone ballpark how much it would cost. My house is roughly 1700 square feet, I realize that it's complex to ballpark something when you can't see it. Thanks in credit
Answers: I am not a fan of the blown insulation. After a few years, the insulation tend to settle and compact down so that the upper part of the wall will become uninsulated and cold. If you use the expandable foam, don't do it yourself. If you spray too much between the studs it will expand beyond the cavity of the space and start "bowing" out your wall.
wall insulation is really comfortable and affordable, liquid foam is poured into the fissure between the walls via a hose really simple and not very messy
