Fly infestation? i posted earlier about have a fly infestation around my patio door...

i posted earlier about have a fly infestation around my patio door area (back of house), and we are getting stressed out next to the amount of flies..they look like blue bottles, i have pest control coming tomorrow...my examine is..(this is a bit delicate), we have new neighbours, and they are not what you would bid house proud, shortly after they moved in, we got a mouse problem (first time ever), we get rid of the problem, i mentioned it to my neighbour, she said, they have mice...now, just this minute, they have got a highly large great dane dog, its left out adjectives day, and she lets its excrement mount up contained by the yard, they have gone rotten on holiday, leaving a lot of dog muck lying surrounded by the yard...could this be the problem? and if so? how do i approach her, without cause offence?
there are alot of reasons for the flies we have a really huge fly problem after Hurricane Katrina and at the feed store i bought these throw away containers that almost look like a 2 litter bottle you place the smelly stuff contained by the container and you place it on the cement patio and i gurantee it will work way cheaper than the exterminator as the container things are made for mostly stables and they are $8.00 the container catch them and drowns them and it holds about 1000 flies and then you throw it away ..i spent $40.00 to clear our fly problem Yeah, dolefully, the mess next door will attract flies. If you have the providence while they're away, take photographs of the mess. You should then contact your local environmental form department, who will hopefully, and tactfully deal next to the problem for you. I too have two large dogs, but construct a point of clearing up after them immediately, and have a proper chemical dog loo contained by the garden to dispose of it!!
Hi, I agree with rainman, I think the problem is motionless mice. Some time ago we were puzzled by a sudden increase in flies at the kitchen door and after further investigation found a long unconscious mouse way out of reach underneath the washing machine. The flies have laid eggs in the carcase which had turned into flies, they be trying to get out through the window. It be very unpleasant. We have two great cats and the little beauty had probably bought it home as a 'gift'. Bless 'em! They continue to bring them home and provide a angelic service for our fast food neighbours, (we are extra vigilant now though!). Hopefully pest control will find the root of the problem for you.
You should watchfully approach your new neighbour without disquiet though, I don't think anyone would think it unreasonable if you ask them to verbs up after their pets when you live close by.
Good luck.
That is definatly the problem...They are horse flies. You can say something to your neighbor but she will probably be offended but hey you own to live there . I dont think she would approaching it either. If nothing is done than contact Board of Health and Spca for animal laxity. Good luck and take care!! Call the department of strength and/or the animal rescue in your area. You can do this anonymously. It'll be a leader start in the right direction. The flies are a direct result of the dog muck in their courtyard.
Your neighbor is NOT going to change. You have get to call the health department formerly you and your family become ill.

OR you might hold to move. Try to find a home away from next door neighbors. A corner lot would be nice. I have particular several people who have have to move out of a neighborhood or two.
Answers:    As your neighbour had basically moved - they are probably not the cause of the mice problem, or maybe the house be unoccupied for a time -

The dog muck may be the source of the flies and this will require
some tact or none depending on how you feel.

maybe a calm word or go full steam with the environmental vigour folks at the council.

Maybe you could bag up the muck and leave at their door
a short time ago so you could say that you were infested next to flies and thought it better to clear up the mess.
point out the result - hopefully no flies and maybe add a cheery " obviously I knew you would clean it up but getting stale on hols is such a busy time"
Blue bottle flies are from maggots that have eaten rotting flesh, any human or animal. I have never nown them to come from dog excrement. The logical cause is they're coming from unconscious mice or dead rats!
