Answers: Go to the store and carry mastic remover, do it sections of in the region of 4x4, wait roughly 10 min. than scrape beside a scraper. I am assuming you have removed hearth rug or tile and are down to your original floor. You can use first a pumice stone if it is really fatty. Be sure to read the warning label because this is a chemical and be sure to wear proper skin protection and eye protection. Sometimes the old bonding agent will embedd itself into imperfection surrounded by the original floor, it will be difficult to remove, after using the above methods and after its dried and cleaned you can sand weakly to a smooth surface.
