Excessive soot coming from furnace? This is the first year that my wife and I didn't pay...
This is the first year that my wife and I didn't pay for our grease company to clean our furnace prior to winter. Now in attendance is a lot of soot that is to say exiting the chimney and landing all over my property. The emission coming from the chimney also seem dark.
Is this just from skipping one year of have the furnace cleaned, or is there possibily something more serious going on beside our furnace?
The furnace is about 65 years outmoded, but the oil company running guys have traditionally given it a pretty elevated efficiency rating for its age.
Answers: you enjoy to have them cleaned every season. or you will own problems.oil burners bestow off abundantly of soot it builds up inside on the elements that the water flows throw .and it will basis the furnace to burn more oil to carry the same results as from a verbs one.there may also be a problem beside the nozzle that the oil is feed through it could be plugging up and that cause,s a poor spray outline.and in turn can incentive late or UN burned fuel.its approaching a snow ball. one entry leads to another and be fore you know your buying a current unit .because you didn't verbs the old one out.
Sounds close to your nozzle needs to be replaced ...
The mixture is too rich and is creating the smoke and soot you see.
