I can't get the minute mitt to match the chimes - The clock any chimes at five minutes to the hour or ten minutes past the hour (hours or quaters), because the shaft is square it's not purely case of taking the hand off and moving them. I hold no history of the clock it has simply been given to me surrounded by the last week and very soon it want to play with it! Thanks contained by advance

Chances are within is a small screw somewhere that lets you do minor adjustment to the mechanism.

Also, if you are getting the wrong chime (for example, it is chiming the quarter hour chime on the hour) you own to manually move the hands olden the next quarter hour, consent to in chime on the subsequent quarter hour and keep repeating this until it get the quarter hour right. (hope that is natural to understand...skip a quarter hour and don't agree to it chime, then permit it chime of on the next quarter hour - eventually it will capture up with itself.)
