I bought a friedge freezer from a company based on ebay in February. The advert stated it have cosmetic damage and no other damage. I salaried nearly 700 for the american fridge frezer. It had 60 days warrenty.

Within one week I had to name an engineer out the fan blade be making a noise. Electrolux fixed the problem.

This sunday Sunday we noticed a discharge. By Tuesday the whole of the freezer had defrost. We had just be shopping, the freezer was full. After loosing all of the freezer food I contacted the company to ask for their assist. They said contact elextrolux and they should help.

They sent out an engineer, he told us we hold an unusual fault and the freezer is totally broken.

He looked in the freezer and the item is states grade in red.
He said this is cosmetic graded.

Where do I stand?
Should I be entitled to an exchange, I dont know something like warrentys etc.

I have had 5 months usage out of a 700 fridge freezer and I am extremely doleful.

Answers:    if it is "not fit for the purpose"regardless of cosmetic damage reduction it is covered by mandatory eu directive for 2 years if it has the "ce" marque.the retaier is obliged to matter with it.check out and quote the sale of stuff act.
