Electricians - Broken pale switch? When moving out of our house, the old owners broke the switch...

When moving out of our house, the old owners broke the switch to the attic light clear stale - so that it was left on. We've unscrewed the muted but can't find the right circuit to break. We have to leave on leave tomorrow (amid the moving chaos) - is it dangerous to leave it resembling that?
Answers:    it will be fine the way it is.
when you get put money on, just shut off adjectives the main circuit coming in to the house. unscrew the switch plate, later unscrew the switch itself. you'll then see how it's wired. i think those switches are lately a few dollars. very easy fix.
No. It might be, but probably not. Sorry I can't be more definitive than that. It depends on how impossible the switch is damaged and whether or not there is a short. If in that was a short then the breaker should hold tripped causing the light to not work at adjectives. This did not happen so probably there is no short. Some breakers, made by Federal Pacific years ago, will not trip at adjectives even under a load specifically too heavy for it. You can tell if you enjoy a Federal Pacific box by opening up the door of the panel and looking at the label inside. Pulling out the bulb be a good idea. But it would be best to find the breaker and shut it rotten at the breaker.
