Electrical shorting problem at home.? Every time I used the steam facility on my steam iron...

Every time I used the steam facility on my steam iron in my utility room, it overloaded the power supply & knock everything out. I thought maybe the iron be the problem, so I bought another. Still have like problem. This has just started happening just this minute & I have no model what could be causing it. The shorting occur if I use the iron in other rooms too. Please assist!
Answers:    It isn't shorting. YOU stated "When the steam is turned on".
You have an RCD main/secondary switch and an iron beside an earth discharge fault.

do the lights stay on?
I wonder if you enjoy either a ground idiosyncrasy type breaker or plug-in, or you have electrics that is reversed. If you Iron is 2 prong plug try turning it over and see if that corrects the problem. If you own a ground fault type breaker or receptacle plug-in within series with the receptacle your iron uses try one to be precise not ground fault protected. If any of these doesn't work - well try still a different plug and if it still kick off, Id hold to look at it.
I almost forgot the most obvious what features or size of breaker are we talking in the region of, and what else goes rotten? If your using the iron and the refg and freezer and coffee pot and dishwasher all be in motion off, (or something close to this) the circuit is OK you just own too many appliances on the circuit. Try a different receptacle that have fewer appliances on it.
