Right presently it has 3.5 volt clear bulbs contained by it, but I want to change them to blue bulbs. I enjoy a strand of 2.5 volt blue christmas lights. If I take adjectives the clear 3.5 volt bulbs out and put the blue 2.5 volt ones in, will it work? It say that I should only replace the bulbs near 3.5 volt, but is it just the bulb nouns that requires this, or does the string require that I have 3.5 replacement bulbs? Sorry, a short time ago don't know how the electrical part works and would similar to to know. Thanks
You wil own to replace all the bulbs near 3.5 volt bulbs, the thing beside lights is this, it's always ok to run a restrained bulb with to little voltage but never beside to much, So if you have 4.5volt wispy bulbs you could use them but never anything less.
When you use a bulb beside a greater voltage requirment then tou hold supplied voltage the bulbs don't burn as bright and last allot longer, it approaching having them on a dimmer switch.
Yes, you need the 3.5 volt bulbs. You will unbelievably quickly burn out the 2.5 volt bulbs.
Now, in opposition, if what you really have is 3.5 WATT bulbs and want to replace them near 2.5 WATT bulbs, it may work fine but the blue bulbs will be somewhat dim. It would be like replacing a 100 watt bulb surrounded by your kitchen with a 60 watt bulb.

Answers: Bobo is correct. They are run in series and use exactly that amount of electricity across respectively bulb. So if you have 3.5 volt bulb you probably hold about 33 lights surrounded by a string. This adds up to nearly 115 volts. Now if you put 2.5 volt lights in they will work but burn brighter and burn out in a flash. They would only call for 80 volts to work, but you would be putting 115 volts throught them. More then they be made for. They are made for a longer string with more lights. Probably closer to 50 lights contained by the string.
