I have a 1961 home that I'm flipping. The range, sea heater, AC,& furnace, have be up dated in a breaker box on the out side of the home next to the meter box, but adjectives plugs and lights are going through the old screw in type fuse box inside the house. Will the electrical surpass inspection ?? Or, do I need to pull the fuse box out and put breakers inside the house?
Answers: If you congregate code you meet code. Fuse box vs breaker usually is not the issue. If the wires that are fuse protected are able to touch the fuse rated amps, you are probably ok unless the local code mandates breaker box instead of fuse box. Usually codes will grandfather existing fuse boxes IF they are properly rate for the wires.
The ulitmate answer is governed by the local code.
