I have one of those testers that you plug contained by as socket,it has yelloow red lights on it,okay to the point, mine is showing a "hot ground reverse" it's a house plug 110, what is wrong with it,i'm getting no electric to give or take a few 5 plug's,is it wired up wrong? please help thank you
Answers:    Ok, if you hold a hot/ground reverse, that means that those respective wires are connected to the outlet incorrectly. They want to be swapped with respectively other.

The other receptacles that don't work indicate that they are wired contained by series downline of this receptacle.

There are some Christmas lights that are wired this way. It's so you can see which table lamp bulb is burned out. For outlets in your home, it isn't working because the hot line isn't connecting to the downline outlets.

Turn off the electricity at the foremost (and then testing to see if there is any current running through your wires-be safe) previously working on this. If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, later feel better around knowing what the deal is and phone a licensed electrician.
yes it's not wired up right ... you should call a electrician to fix that as soon as possisble
you should check and see if there's a gfci that's tripped that will sometime show a hot ground reversed
