Electric Blanket Problems!? Okay, when I turn my electric blanket on, the light stays on...

Okay, when I turn my electric blanket on, the light stays on for a few second then turns past its sell-by date. I've tried switching outlets and un-plugging and re-plugging. Nothing has worked. (My room stays at, 50 some degree in the winter, and it's a blizzard outside right presently so it's getting even colder.
PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!

Answers:    Do you have anything over the blanket like another cover or anything? This could grounds it not to work. Also, make sure to check the nouns point and make sure it have no moisture or anything on it. How long have you have the blanket? It is also possible there could be a short contained by the wiring of the blanket/cords. Did you also try plugging anything else within all of the other outlets besides the blanket to see if adjectives of the outlets are working correctly, it could be something in the electric wiring, breaker box, etc. if none of the other outlets are working correctly either.
Help me please?
