I'm about to suspend the drywall during a remodel in my house. My grill is, is there anything that I can use besides reciprocated compound? Like maybe lightweight spackle? I would close to to use something that's faster drying than joint compound since I'm close to my deadline. If not that's fine too.
Answers: Look at Home depot or Lowes for stacks of dry powder rated surrounded by time like "5 minute" or "20 minute" It will be contained by the same aisle as the united compound. It will cure in that much time if you mix it right. Easier to spread and sand too.
DO NOT USE THE 5 MINUTE for your first time - it cures surrounded by the mixing tub!
You have to move express when applying, or you will be sanding seriously! Good luck
Use lightweight spackling, because it's easy to work beside and it dries very in a hurry.Sometimes you may have to moisten it contained by order to engender it easier to work with
