My family's dryer is having a loud squeaking clamour everytime the dryer is trying to dry clothes. It will stop when the dryer is turned off, tho. So, does anyone know what I could do contained by order for the squeaking to stop completely??
Answers: The drum position is dry of grease, and the outside drum channel's teflon wear pads are getting skeletal.
You can give it some added time by removing 2 screws from inside dryer door slit that go up into the top. Removing 2 clamps on rear of dryer just below the headpanel (dials, knob, etc on back),lifting up dryer top.
Remove screws that hold the dryer front panel on.
Tilt front panel near door on it forward and rub some light lithium grease around the plastic circle the dryer drum runs on.
Now verbs drum to the front just plenty to where the pivot pin comes out of the spindle pocket (pointed ending in center of backbone of drum fits in a hole).Take some more grease and spread around this pointed spindle, and force some support in the hole surrounded by the dryer back panel that it fits into. Re-assemble within reverse order.
#1. Unplug dryer previously doing any of this.
Note: Now is good time to get hold of your shop vac and clean out the lint from adjectives parts of the dryer.
I have done this twice on our dryer. Next time ours squeaks I am going to install attitude kit for the drum, it costs more or less $35.00
Could be a problem twith the belt or a bearing. Not a work for an amateur.
