Dryer problems? My dryer has stopped heating up and the timer never go off....

My dryer has stopped heating up and the timer never go off. It stays wherever you set it, and will walk all day but for turned off. Whats the deal? I thought almost about calling the place where I bought it, but Im flat broke at the moment. If anyone know anything about this kind of stuff, share your desirability!!
Can you put artex over out-of-date polystyrene...
Answers:    Assuming that you have an electric dryer check to make sure you own 220 volts at you plug. If you do you may have a bad heat element.
