I have an in ground pool within Texas. I have just have my water tested. My calcium hardness is 425 should be 200-400 and my cyanuric tart is 100 should be 30-50ppm. The guy in the shop is telling me I own to drain my pool and reapply chemicals. Surely there is another way to lower these? How do you drain a pool? He say this is why my pool is not holding the chlorine. I must admit for a long time now the chlorine merely disapears. Also I have stains in my pool which is any a build up of chlorine or calcium which creates a stain. Will the normal stain remover from the swimming pool shop remove it?
if you stop using stablized chlorine your cynuric acid level will come down.using a submersible pump attached to a hose is the easiest track to drain the pool.certain medias used instead of silica sand in filter will remove calcium: http://www.swimming-pool-information.com... I'm sure there's a pool maintenance company will empty it for you. I don't know how any individual could be in motion about doing it though.
Surely the expert pool man should be able to narrate you what and how much chemicals to add to correct the imbalance. I hold an inkling that he does not know how to determine it. I fail to see how draining down and refilling is going to support hold the chlorine, is the water being circulated properly. Determine whether you will be charged for sewage charge on a drain down, within UK we are charged for the water and also a sewerage charge is levied against marine used. As for draining down if you have a circulating pump you can utilise that, if not you will hold to buy/hire one. The cyanuric acid level will come down on is own but this could clutch a while. The calcium hardness won't. This is why it is recommended that pools be drained approximately every five years. Since you said you have stains I would suggest have the pool drained and acid washed. That will purloin care of both problems. Expect to pay surrounded by the neighborhood of $500 for this service. If you decide to just changeover the water yourself, rent a submersible pump at your local equipment place. Make sure your filter pump is shut off and DON'T turn on the pool lights while the pool is unfilled.
Answers: Drink it.
I had matching problem last year. My pool sweep runs from an outlet on the side of the pool. The water comes out of the outlet and the pressure runs the sweep. I connected the hose for the pool sweep to the outlet and removed the pool sweep from the cessation of the hose. I then ran the hose to one of the deck drains. I run the pump till 3/4 of the water had drained.
I afterwards re-filled the pool with fresh water. Everything be in balance after that. It took me awhile to regard about how to drain the pool as mine had no "valve" or anything to do that.
Maybe you have a similar hookup and drain it that way. But I would suggest draining 3/4 of the wet and start over. It cost me about $100 on my water bill to re-fill the pool. My pool is 11K gallons.
