It's for one month, the only gas i used be for my water space heater. I take a 10 minute shower every morning. I live alone within a small apartment, that has an electric stove/oven, and a gas furnace and river heater. I did NOT use my furnace at ALL. the bill be $24.95. Does that sound right to you?
Answers: If both appliances enjoy pilot lights comsuming gas all the time , that add to the bill. Check your water space heater and see how high the appraise is set. For one person, you can turn it down lower and still hold enough hot dampen for a shower. More recent furnaces have an automatic ignition that lights the furnace when it turns on but , save , then that pilot neutral is going all the time even though you are not using the furnace. Some states lower electric consumption rates within the summer and increase gas. Then they switch them when cold weather starts again. That may be the cause of your elevated bill. It is difficult to speak whether that is a glorious bill or not when prices vary depending on where on earth you live.http://www.sceg.com/SCANA.ESS.Templates/... This site has a chart stating that the average gas dampen heater use is 18 therms a month.
Get a wood stove and you would not own to pay anyone.
