Does shutting sour an grease dampen stove set free on grease? We've hear this could be desperate for the furnace. Advice?

Answers:    Sure, if you're not using the oil to heat the river, you will save oil - you won't own hot water, though, unless you have another mode to get it hot.
I'm not sure about whether it's accurate or bad for the furnace, though. I heat my house next to oil (natural gas for hot water), and the oil furnace stays rotten all summer (obviously) without any trouble.
If you are chitchat about the emergency shut off to the grease burner, my husband and I shut ours off all the time. When we want to have hot water we freshly flip it back on a and wait a few minutes for the hose down to heat up. In winter when we have the steam running we leave it on for obvious reason, but in summer it stays off unless we want hot water. We have never have any problems with our oil burning furnace from doing this.
