Does household insurance cover replacement of garage flat roof? uk only question

uk only question
If it was worn out by something falling on it, ( A chimney) then it would be covered.
If it needs replacing because it have reached the end of it's go, then NO
I was taking to an insurance broker and he said that it is not up to the insurance company to label you a better home than it was the day back.
Unfortunately, the answer is no. In order for a policy to respond, there would first inevitability to be a definable and immediate loss caused by an insured peril. In your valise, this is simply deterioration of a roof. Wear and tear is typically excluded as well. If in that was a fire or wind storm for example that cause damage, that would be covered as these types of perils are definable and instant. However, deterioration, which occurs over time is not and is therefore not covered by insurance. I be asked this question when I was an insurance agent. In that luggage the roof was about 20 years hoary.

The answer was definitely no!

As far as I remember the anticipated life span of a 'normal' laminated flat roof was 7 years.

More expensive roof systems, e.g. resin + glass-fibre or butyl rubber should have an extended guarantee, within which case you should approach the contractor.
no i think thats building insurance. household insurance is everythin in the house. Only if your policy covers harmed to outbuildings.

if its damaged through accident after yes it should be covered
if it jsut needs replacing because of age or poor maintenance next no it isn't. most falt roofs have a life o around 10..15 years, which can be extended if weel maintain, or if using another form of waterproof membrane usually not, home insurance does not usually cover general wear and cleave or roofs! but i sugest contacting your insurance providor to find out for sure, there is no harm within asking! :)
Answers:    Easy answer, simply read your policy document, if it is covered you will find it there, personally I devise it's unlikely.
