I have my HDTV mounted but there's no room for a surge protector vertebrae there. I installed the box final there and run the cables over and up into my attic where on earth it goes spinal column over to another box. Is there a bearing I can install an inline surge protector somewhere up there to protect the tv from spikes? and if so, can you suggest a honourable one to buy or where to buy it? gratefulness!

the other option is, unsurprisingly, having an electrician put surrounded by whole-house protection but i'm worried about the cost within.
Answers:    Yes they do. They mount at the electric panel and protect what ever circuit runs through them. These are much cheaper than the "whole panel" protection.
There are within line surge protectors, rather common within older school to protect their computer systems. They must be professionally installed and the smallest is about 5 circuits. Cost just about $2k/circuit + installation.
If you have a exotic TV set why are you worried about spikes? The unusual electronics have it built within to there systems. Most of the apology for the surge protectors are for the electronics of 10 years ago or more. the newer equipment is sensitive, but it is designed to cut off and reset internally.
