Answers:    That is plain silly. I've never heard of any appliance that needed to be unplugged. Yes you can exit it plugged in if you turn it rotten or if it turns itself off. Coffee maker should not be left on when they are pointless. Other than that, no problem. I never unplug any appliance. Especially my coffee pot.

You should be able to give it pluged in. Just be trustworthy to turn it off manually when finished. Dont rely on the auto shut-off. It's a liability issue for the mfg. and thats why they enunciate unplug it.
