My gas meter is is changing even thou adjectives my appliances including pilot lights are off. Only by in the region of 2-5 cubic mm every hour (not constant). this is the 3rd digit on the last 3 you give the brush-off when submitting a reading (basically a negligable amount). Do I have a overrun or is this normal demeanour because of alternating pressures and the gas going 2 ways through the meter?
I'm not too worried because this is only a fraction of a penny every week... but does anyone within the know have any well-mannered advice?
Answers: OK i used to work for a residential gas company and this is my warning....if i were you i would loaf and call during the week and hold them check it just to be on the risk-free side, i don't think its a big promise and I'll tell you why.....pressures inside you gas lines fine-tuning as the temperatures adapt and probably what you are seeing is just the pressure transformation as it warms up during the year and then draw from colder at night...but no more than you are chitchat about seeing on your meter is probably not a big treaty, a pilot light uses road more gas than that....oh yeah the reason i said hang about till the week to call is nearby is no charge to run a leak check unless you call for after hours then in that is a service charge..hope this helps
Call the gas co. they can do a filter test.
