Most of the time when my dishwasher is running it smells like rotten eggs or sewage... is that normal? I checked it and the wet is clear.. so why is it produceing a bad ordor? shower water and faucet hose down is normal.. just not the dishwasher.
It may be the sink drain. The garage disposer and the dishwasher are probably connected to matching drain. Try putting some real lemons or orange surrounded by the garbage disposal. You can just use the outer layer too. Also it might be some food that is stuck in the dishwasher too. Look within the bottom and see if it is cleared out.

You might also want to do a search of " rotten egg dishwasher" on yahoo and see if you can find something out that way.
this is common in dishwashers that are indecently installed. where the drain tube goes over to its nouns to the disposer/sink drain, there needs to be a reverse "P TRAP" created by running the drain strip up to the bottom of the counter top then back down to its' drain nouns. this way a siphon cannot be created to suck water from sink drains support into dishwasher. Just a thought but I really dont know I think I know...

I have like peas in a pod problem and its with my water comming within contact with the electric heating item. I think (for lack of a scientiffic root or explanation) the minerals in my water (im on a well) act in response and set loose Sulpher or Sulpher compounds when the electric element is on heating the dampen.

Assumeing you have an energy shareholder settingTry to use it with the heater stale and see if it still does this. If it does I'd really like to know so I know more about what my sea heater is doing.

Also Ive been told that here is a "rod" of magniseum in the electric water heaters to lend a hand keep the Sulpher in suspention and stop this smell. I cant grasp my heaters Mag-rod to unscrew so I cant find out if it works or not.

Please let me know if this helps you or not.
maybe the stuff u put in it is smelly

IF YOU DON'T HAVE SMELLY WATER WHEN YOU TAKE A DRINK FROM THE FAUCET-THEN YOU HAVE OLD, OLD WATER IN YOUR DISHWASHER BECAUSE IT SMELLS AND THE DISHWASHER IS NOT PUMPING OUT THE DIRTY WASH WATER. MAKE SURE THAT THE DRAIN CYCLE IS PUMPING OUT THE OLD WATER AND THEN NEW FRESH WATER IS COMING IN. --A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. Sorry I own no idea but I have the exact same problem! I hope someone can answer it. And I do not put smelly things surrounded by the dishwasher. (One of my theories is maybe there is a unmoving animal stuck somewhere that I can't see and it smells worse from getting wet).
Answers:    It is possible that a bit of food is stuck somewhere. Or that nearby is a bit of mold growing way down deep. It happen, nothing bad roughly speaking your housekeeping. :)

I suggest running through a wash with nought in the washer. Use no dish soap, but include a cup or two of plain white vinegar. Vinegar will kill any mold specifically in there and should also draw from rid of smells.
Put one cup of white vinegar in it and let it run through the cycle. Use better smelling dish soap.
or win an air freshioner
or deal next to it,
I get the same problem adjectives i do is get a dishwashing tablet put it in the washer in need any dishes do this once or twice a month and problem solved. you can also try using dishwashing liquid on your dishes while washing your dishes within washer.. You need to clean it out beside vinegar, start the cycle and open the door, pour in vinegar and consent to it finish cycling.
