i have a chandeler next to 5 bulbs - having fitted a dimmer switch it worked fine. however, after simply a week or so the dimmer stopped working and the light be contantly on (couldnt switch it off). Is this a defect surrounded by the dimmer switch or is it not possible to fit a dimmer to a night light with tons bulbs?

Answers:    The number of bulbs on the same circuit shouldn't situation, as long as they're the correct type of bulbs that work with a dimmer (usually the regular incandescent type) and that the total wattage of the bulbs is not too much for the dimmer switch to touch.
Other than that, perhaps a lead has loosened from the switch or the dimmer is inexact.
Make sure you read the dimmer installation instructions very fussily.
