Did I convert my dryer from a 4-prong to a 3-prong correctly? I moved into a pre-1941 home so I'm NEC compliant to do...

I moved into a pre-1941 home so I'm NEC compliant to do this. My four wires attached to the dryer were connected to three terminal. It was:
1. Black
2. Green + White
3. Red
* terminal 2 have a metal tab that linked it to the frame of the dryer.
The GE cord I purchased did not own colors (all gray). The instructions only stated that the center be neutral.

So, I connected it similar to so:
1. top cord
2. center cord
3. bottom cord
*I removed the tab that connected to the frame.

Before I give this a try, did I do it correctly?
Thanks.
Answers:    Yes you wired it correctly but you want to put the tab back on the middle terminal from the frame. It be strange that this tab was on within with a four prong cord, it should not be on nearby if you use a four prong cord..the tab should only be nearby if you use a three prong cord.
your 2 outer wires go to red and black and the middle line goes to the impartial middle. Looks good to me.
